Industrial Generator Maintenance Technician

Our commercial engineering firm in Port Harcourt is looking for a skilled Industrial Generator Maintenance Technician to service and repair high-capacity diesel generators across healthcare, industrial, and commercial facilities. Given the critical nature of uninterrupted power supply in Nigeria, you will play a key role in keeping essential infrastructure running reliably. You will perform routine servicing, mechanical overhauls, and electrical fault diagnostics on major generator brands including Mikano/Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, and FG Wilson. The role demands prompt field response to sudden power outages and backup equipment failures. • OND, NABTEB, or Federal Trade Test (Grade I & II) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. • Minimum of 3 years practical experience servicing heavy-duty diesel generators in Nigeria. • Proven expertise with Perkins, Cummins, Caterpillar, and FG Wilson engine models. • Practical knowledge of ATS panels, synchronized switchgears, and digital controllers. • Willingness to respond to emergency call-outs outside regular work hours. • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks) on 100kVA–1500kVA diesel generators. • Troubleshoot and repair engine faults, fuel injection systems, cooling mechanisms, and turbochargers. • Inspect, repair, and calibrate Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and control panels (Deep Sea, ComAp). • Respond swiftly to emergency power outage calls from corporate clients across Rivers State. • Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations during routine audits. • Keep detailed job logs, maintenance reports, and inventory requisitions for spare parts. • Adhere strictly to HSE regulations and site-specific safety guidelines.
