Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee our fast-growing logistics and haulage network across Lagos and neighboring southwestern states. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating daily vehicle dispatch, managing driver schedules, and ensuring optimal vehicle maintenance to support our high-volume distribution demands. Operating within the fast-paced Nigerian transport ecosystem requires sharp problem-solving skills, real-time response to traffic bottlenecks, and strict compliance with state regulatory bodies such as LASTMA, VIS, and the FRSC. You will lead a dedicated team of dispatch supervisors and maintenance staff to keep operational downtime at an absolute minimum. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, extensive knowledge of route optimization, and proven leadership in managing a mixed fleet of light trucks and heavy-duty delivery vehicles. If you thrive under pressure and have a track record of driving operational efficiency, we welcome your application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum of 4 years proven experience in fleet operations management within Nigeria. • Hands-on familiarity with telematics, GPS tracking platforms, and fleet management software (e.g., Fleetio, Odoo). • Solid understanding of vehicle mechanics and preventive maintenance routines for trucks. • In-depth knowledge of Lagos transport networks and Nigerian highway regulations. • Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch schedules and route planning for over 50 delivery trucks across regional transit corridors. • Monitor real-time vehicle tracking systems to optimize delivery timelines and reduce fuel consumption. • Direct preventive and corrective vehicle maintenance schedules with certified internal mechanics and third-party workshops. • Ensure full statutory compliance with FRSC, LASTMA, VIS, and state transport permits for all fleet assets. • Manage driver recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and safety training modules. • Conduct weekly fuel auditing and operational cost variance analysis to identify savings opportunities. • Handle emergency response protocols for road breakdowns, accidents, or transit delays.
